As part of a play reading series at the University of Kansas, Dr. Deboeck coordinated and directed a staged reading of Ariana Curtis’s play, The Spirit of Seventy-Six or The Coming Woman: a Prophetic Drama. This satire is a suffrage drama that was presented prior to the 2012 election as a means of initiating conversations around voting rights and the disenfranchised.
